I doordashed a chik’n po boy and fries. The fries were good, the po boy was decent but the bun was pretty burnt and there wasn’t a ton of sauce. Good portion size though and filling.

Creativity, variety, and options! - Edit
Fully separate vegan menu with everything clearly labeled. Also very creative fusion dishes with a full “fry bar!” I was able to eat here easily with my friend with a gluten intolerance also.

A great vegan find near O'Hare - Edit
Boon Cafe is Vegan with a back page selection for non-Vegans. We've been there three times,and I ate three different entrees and they were all great. The only place, so far, that has figured out that falafel makes a great veggie burger. They deserve five stars in my humble opinion.

I loved stopping by here after I arrived to the ORD airport. The food was delish. They are incredibly accommodating and supportive if you have any food allergies or are vegan. I had their chana with fries and thought it was delicious 💗 it was hard making a choice because everything seemed amazing.

I have family nearby so the vegans in the family stopped to pick something up before the family event. We split the Vegan BBQ Burger and the Vegan McClucker Fries. Both were very yummy. CAUTION: when ordering online it always estimates 30 minutes to fill your order THIS IS NOT TRUE. As someone who ordered as we were on the way this was a little shocking when our order was ready a lot earlier than expected.

We brought some relatives from out of town here before taking them back to the airport. We all loved it! The Vegan Chapli has a great Indian flavor, and the Vegan Cauliflower Bowl was also popular.

I'm a long-time vegan, and even though this restaurant is not fully vegan, I would give it a 5-star rating if HappyCow allowed it. This was my first visit and will NOT be my last. The food was amazing, the owners and staff are super nice, and the service was great! I went with a group of people so I was lucky to be able to try multiple meals. I enjoyed the vegan mjadra, the vegan chapli burger, the vegan chana chaat, the vegan mcclucker fries and the vegan somoosa. I would order everything all over again. I didn't dislike anything I tried. I would like to try a vegan Po-boy next time as it looked amazing. The only thing I didn't care for was the plasticware and Styrofoam cups, so please bring your own utensils, glass and to-go containers. Thank you Boon Cafe!! :)

The food was phenomenal. Very chill hole in the wall vibe. Very friendly owners. Interested fusion Indian/Palestinian concept with many vegan options. I loved supporting them and I hope they do very well. The Chana chaat, Mexican po boy were my favorites. They have very delicious hummus as well.

HUGE vegan menu! - Edit
I loved all the options on their vegan menu. I tried their BBQ Mushroom sandwich and it was soooo good & well seasoned. Their Falafel burger was huge, fresh, loaded with veggies and a homemade sauce, very delicious. Can’t wait to try more! They have Beyond and vegan chicken options as well as bowls and samosa and cauliflower. Amazing customer service, even for carry out, the owners are very sweet and even gave me some free iced tea while I waited. It’s a treat to have a scratch kitchen place with an emphasis on Mediterranean, Indian and such a variety of options. And in an area (Norridge) that doesn’t have a lot of options - it’s great they are filling that niche.

I wish I could give them five stars but Happy Cow wouldn’t let me since they’re not a fully vegan restaurant. The food was incredible - and the vegan menu was so much bigger than we anticipated. Options range from quesadillas, nachos, poboys, burgers, plant based chicken, and a FRY BAR! Their “Boon Sauce” is incredible and pairs so well with all of their entrees. The service was amazing and so quick and helpful. We were served a sample of their calamari which wasn’t on the menu, but was equally as amazing as everything else we had. I am so glad we made the stop on our way to Rosemont Theater. Give them a try - you will not be disappointed!!!

Read moreEverything is made fresh and everything is really flavorful. The meals are creative and give a new twist on some classics. It's kinda like...a place to go for junk food middle eastern. There are things like falafel fries and burgers.
My favorite is the kefta, but there's lots to try to see what you think.
Their menu is clearly labeled so you know which options are vegan/vegetarian (specify vegan in the notes so they know you aren't vegetarian). And on the boxes they always write vegan for that extra assurance.
They've never gotten the order wrong (which is extra important at an Omni place!)
I highly recommend you give it a try at least once!

This adorable hidden Cafe has a plethora of vegan options & omni. I enjoyed my vegan quesidilla & loaded fries. My parents couldn't stop raving about their food. This mom & pop restraunt is a wonderful find & if you're in the area please visit!
