Slightly disappointing - Edit
I think my expectations were too high for this place.
Read moreI did think the setting was beautiful (sit outside if warm) and the atmosphere relaxed. Staff were friendly. Prompt service. Lots of food options.
But I think taste was lacking. The service wasn’t very professional (for the price point). As each dish comes with three portions, this place is best for couples or groups (or ask for a takeout container for leftovers).
I spent $52 for five dishes and a sparkling water, which is in line with what I expected.

Really upset with my visit - Edit
Really upset with my visit as it was my surprise engagement. My family had previously informed them that tonight would be my special night- they had promised that they would arrange something special but on the night they refused to do so.

Great lunch! - Edit
This is seriously the best place to come for for an amazing yum cha lunch - especially with non-veg friends and family! Lots of fun, and a great way to try a variety of foods you wouldn’t have otherwise ordered!
Read moreThe only downsides are that it is always packed - so a reservation is almost always needed (is very popular place so to be expected) - and that their dinner menu is no where near as good as their lunch menu! (I was served a salad that was pretty much slabs of tofu - but all of the other foods were delicious.)

Amazing and Iconic vegan cafe in the Park - Edit
This was one of the best vegan restaurant I have eaten at in my life. It has it all. Great service, amazing food, well marked menu with glutenfree options, and magical outside seating. This is the first time this year that I wanted to give a eating higher than a 5. If you looking for a true dining experience this is the place. The restaurant is by St Mary and across Hyde Park.
Read moreMake sure you make a reservation, which is easy to do on line. They get very busy and have limited walk ins.
They have a combination of small and large plates. I would recommend you go with a group so you can try and number of dishes.
I had the glutenfree prawn toast and the shitake mushroom dumplings. Both were amazing and everything was severed with a glutenfree flag on them to make it clear it was glutenfree. Which I may have questioned.
My next course was the kale salad
. That was fresh and tasty. I finished with green tea with an amazing sponge cake with homemade icecream.
Pros: Magical setting , All vegan with alot of glutenfree options, Great service
Cons: Pricey but well worth it.

Perfect!!! - Edit
I've been here for the Nup the Cup event, lunch where they bring around dishes on offer, and dinner where it's from the menu. I've tried so many of their dishes and absolutely love Bodhi. Staff are always really helpful and friendly. Nice location in the park on a summer's day, and night time with the lights. Cocktails are beautiful too 😋

Magical Food and Setting - Edit
I was extremely impressed with Bohdi in the park! The flavours were extremely different yet satisfying - challenging your perception of vegetable flavours!
Read moreWent with my non-vegan family and my newly vegan boyfriend who were all extremely impressed with the assortment of different flavours and foods to try from.
The asian 'tapas' style means you have the ability to order a large range of different foods to share among all which is especially good if you are unsure what to order.
Must highly recommend the eggplant main: 'light crispy finger eggplant, chili, toasted sesame seeds etc'. It was honestly out of this world and I need to go back specifically for them.
Only let down was the desserts. I really enjoyed the sticky date pudding but the other three (labelled in photo) were just a bit bland and disappointing. Still tasted ok but wouldn't purchase again. Does not take away from the 5 star rating though😜
If price is not a concern, than this restaurant is perfect; right under st marys cathedral in the park😄

Wasted venue - Edit
This place has occupied its fantastic setting for many years now, and for many years its prices have suggested it must be fine dining. Sadly, it's not. The food is rather ordinary and often poorly executed – the eggplant I had last time was too salty to consume, and other things soggy and oily. It's a shame to waste such a great location, but I can't recommend Bodhi when there are now so many other truly lovely options available if you want to spend this kind of money on a meal. Service is equally unimpressive. I wish someone who knew what they were doing would take this over.

Disappointing experience - Edit
If you decide to go for dinner, I recommend bringing your own water bottle and a whistle for attracting attention. We were so excited to visit here, but it was a fairly lacklustre evening. The vegetable curry and the green beans were both very good, the eggplant dish we tried was really greasy, and the sticky date pudding was fine but nothing amazing.
Read moreThe table service was really poor - the staff were friendly but it was nearly impossible to get water refills or a dessert menu, drinks arrived halfway through the meal, and one coffee never arrived at all despite tracking down a waiter to ask after it. It’s odd that you have to agree to vacate the table by a certain time, considering that our meal took *forever* because of the delay in ordering and receiving dishes.
We did speak to a manager, who was apologetic (whilst blaming the staff’s lack of experience) but did not seem to grasp that the price point here is completely unrealistic for the level of service. Would not return, despite the pretty venue - there are much better vegan restaurants for special occasions.
Pros: Nice dining space, Vegetable curry
Cons: Poor service, Overpriced

Bodhi is one of my favourite vegan restaurants in Sydney. I have only been for yum cha but every time I go the food and service are great. It is also in a nice location and is easy to find. Would highly recommend eating there. (If you go make sure you get the BBQ buns. They are the best)

Amazing! - Edit
Such a wonderful restaurant. Location is beautiful, with fairy lights outside if you are there at night. The yum cha menu is extensive and great for lunch, and the dinner menu is beautifully crafted with so many wonderful flavours. Something to suit everyone, with some dishes having mock meat and some not. Great place for a special occasion!

Very nice but not brilliant - Edit
Well, the sticky date pudding was brilliant, but the entree and mains were just good. We shared 'chicken' skewers that were nice, and dumplings that were a bit bland. Then shared a main of mushrooms and braised tofu with rice. This was very tasty without setting the world on fire and only had a few mushrooms. Also, personally, I found some aspects of the service a bit odd: they didn't provide a new plate or bowl for the main; when we asked for the menu to check for desserts, they only brought one for the two of us; our water went unfilled the whole time (I don't like manic water filling either, but every now and then is ok!) Finally, it's very expensive. Two entrees, one main with rice, two desserts, no drinks: $94.
