Fully vegan restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We ordered the tabouleh with falafel. And as a starter bread. It was good but a bit expensive.

Outrages prices, but still good food - Edit
We been to Calypso a few times, and last week we went again. I dont know what happened (new management?) but the prices went through the roof! A main course will set you back between 22-28 euro. This includes a side dish of fries and salad.
Read moreI got the Double burger and the patties were really nice. A good burger and with the included salad/fries it can feed 2. We did have a set of bitterballs also. They were also excellent.
So all in all, it was good food. But there are but's...
The pricing is much to high (1 pot tea for 10 euro! come on....)
The menu is very limited
The atmosphere is ok. But it, again, was too cold there. No heating in that place.
I suggest to skip the Calypso and directly go to the Vegan Heroes, also in the center.

A couple of years ago this was my absolute favorite vegan spot. Now their prices are absurd, 24€ for a wrap which is not even filling! Not coming back until they fix their prices and portion sizes.

Geweldige service en heerlijk eten - Edit
Hier het tapasdiner en dessertplank gegeten, een heerlijke combinatie van verschillende gerechtjes om van alles te proeven. De chef bracht verschillende gerechten naar de tafel en vertelde enthousiast wat hij gemaakt had. De bediening was ook super vriendelijk en heeft ons super geholpen. Echt een must-eat als je in Eindhoven bent.

When I first went to Calypso 5 years ago I was pleasantly surprised finding such a lovely spot in Eindhoven. Coming back now with the memory of a lovely lunch on the terrace, which had been delicious, filling and affordable, my experiences were different. The dinner menu is in my eyes extremely expensive for what you get and not very creative. I got the dinner plate to share but none of us was full after. They gave us some extra falafel on the house when we mentioned it, but that was the best service we got. Staff was mildly inattentive sometimes just leaving plates on the table for very long. I’d probably visit again for lunch if I’m in the area, but dinner doesn’t serve me that well.

If you are craving meat, go try their steak: it’s crazy how meat-like it is. They also have stews & curry, a bunch of tapas, amazing desserts. The portions are quite big. The service is awesome. There is outdoor sitting for the dry summer days. I would like to go back to try the rest of the menu, especially the lunch one. 😅

We visited Bistro Calypso with friends and decided to have the tapas for dinner. As a first round we got olives (nothing special there), mushrooms (these were nice), fries with mayonnaise and a watermelon pizza (again nothing special apart from the vegan blue cheese) to share. After a while they added grilled green peppers and small falafel bites. It was fine but for a restaurant with so many reviews I had higher expectations both with regarding the creativity of the menu as well as the quality of the dishes. Prices are pretty high as well.
Read moreStaff is very friendly and the place has a cosy atmosphere. Would I drop by again? Probably not, but if so I’d stick to the apple cider they serve (local, do try!) and a couple of bitterballen.

The food was amazing. We had the three course chef‘s table. We got marinated Mushrooms with grilled Pak Choi, a bulgur salad with falafel and dates, and a Belgian stew with fries.

I used to come here quite often. Recently they changed the interior, which looks really nice and warm. But they also changed the menu. We came for lunch but there were only about 5 options to choose from and we couldn’t order from the dinner options. Before they had many options so I was disappointed. Also the prices have gone up and it’s quite expensive now. The staff was friendly though.

Fully vegan restaurant with really kind staff. I've been here a few times now. I find the main courses personally a bit hit or miss. However the time I really didn't like a dish and didn't finish it, they immediately offered to take it off the bill. The appetizers and desserts are amazing! We had the 3 course tapas, which was very tasty. The portions were auite big. The environment is really nice and the staff was very friendly. It was only a bit pricey (38 euros per person for the food). We will come back to try the other dishes!

Good range of well crafted vegan plates served in relaxed ambiance perfect for a slow lunch or dinner out with your soulmate, friends or family. Home brewed raspberry Kombucha was sharp and tasty. Bitterballs had a crunchy outer and savoury soft inner, served with a punchy mustard dip. ‘Salmon’ sushi had an incredible texture and the ‘caviar’ popped in your mouth with a seaweed salty taste. Main course special of jackfruit satay was juicy with a good depth of flavour to the sauce. Service isn’t the fastest but that gives you more time to savour the food and chat. Good value at €140 for three people with two rounds of drinks and two courses. Highly recommended

We came before a theater show and they were very facilitating and mindful of the time. We are not the biggest fan of fried food and faux meat and that is the bulk of the menu. But they have other options, we had mushrooms and zucchini soup as starter. Mushrooms were not very special, the fake salmon in the soup tasted very real. Flavours were ok but not that speciql. As a main we had the September season bowl and falafal salad. The rasberrry kumbucha was very nice.

Excellent tapas and great location - Edit
We ordered the tapas board. You can choose how many courses you want and a selection of items per course arrives. The mains included some excellent falafel, bitterballen which apparently taste exactly like the meaty originals, and some very tasty mushrooms. The dessert board was equally good, including vegan soft serve ice cream, very rich chocolate brownies and an excellent blueberry and lemon cake. Overall a lot of great food!

Wir saßen draußen an alten Tischen und auf gebrauchten Stühlen - nichts mit Vintagestil, nö wirklich alt. Großes Lob dafür.

Das Essen war einfach super gut, nicht zu viel, nicht zu wenig und ein Nachtisch passte auch noch rein.

Einziges Manko: die Wickelsituation mit Baby war etwas unangenehm. Wickelunterlage konnte zwischen die Waschbecken gelegt werden (alles nass und etwas dreckig) und es gab keine richtige Ablage für die Wickelsachen…
