Very Nice Vegan Bakery

Birdie’s Bakeshop, located on the banks of the Missouri River in Washington, Missouri, is an absolute gem—all items are vegan, many are gluten-free, and everything my family tasted was delicious. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and the evident care put into every baked good made it a truly wonderful experience.

As a vegan for 10 years, I’ve tried vegan bakeries all over St. Louis and across multiple states, but this charming spot in Washington, Missouri, takes the cake (pun intended)! It’s hands-down the best vegan bakery I’ve ever visited.

The owner is a true genius, crafting every treat with love and organic ingredients. Her commitment to quality shines through in every bite, especially with her dye-free approach—using organic ingredients, vegetable extracts for vibrant, guilt-free colors. Plus, she offers gluten-free options that are just as delicious, making this place a haven for all kinds of dietary neads. Her Oatmeal Cream Pie is absolute perfection—nostalgic, creamy, bringingjoy to anyones heart.

Nestled right by the Missouri River in the adorable town of Washington, this bakery is worth a day trip, even if you’re not local. After loading up on treats, wander the cute downtown shops and soak in the small-town charm. It’s the perfect recipe for a delightful day out!
