clueless

Beware, staff in canteen includes volunteers who may pretend to understand what vegan means and Blag an answer about food ingredients, so ask for a chef. It has very few vegan foods and definitely no vegan dessert so a failure in the eyes of my kids. It also left me with a nasty taste of hypocrisy in my mouth. There is a sign in the toilets asking you to ensure seat is left down so that insects are not harmed yet the majority of food in the canteen contains dairy. A bit more enlightenment needed here.

Pros: vegan on request, relaxed venue

Cons: no peace on their plates, just the lips

Cheap and a great place to visit

This is a lovely place to visit. Book ahead and let them know if you are vegan. There are normally 2- 3 hot meals to choose from and a salad. It costs $10. I believe from memory dessert may be extra. The food is well worth it. Also worth the drive to experience the Chenrezig institute; investigate the Buddhist bookshop, stroll around the grounds and you may be even able to do a meditation depending on when you go.

Pros: food is GOOD, excellent value, Chenrezig experience is lovely

Cons: need to book prior

Definitely visit the Big Love Cafe!

The cafe is a banquet/ set lunch. Not much choice, but still delicious. If you are not doing a course there you need to email them the day before and let them you if you are vegan or gluten free. They have vegan options, but better to let them know.
While you are there you can check out the Buddhist book shop and you may also be able to to a meditation session. A lovely place to visit.

Such a beautiful place

Relaxed, charming, rustic place where the food is prepared fresh every day. Not really much choice, as it is a set kind of lunch, but everything is always tasty and fresh. Drive up to Eudlo for the experience alone, walk around the grounds and soak up the Tibetan atmosphere. Just lovely.

Pros: Peaceful, Always yummy food., Generous portions

Cons: None
