Extremely Small Portions

The avocado toast was actually two slices of small toast cut in half with sliced avocado and some spices. I can’t emphasize how small the portions were and how expensive it was. In total, we ordered avocado toast, breakfast sandwich, smoothie, and juice for a total of $39. Everything was small and the service was slow.

Pros: Tasted good

Cons: Expensive, Small portion sizes

Never again

I was really excited to try this place but my experience was terrible. I met a non-vegan work associate here for lunch. The only vegan options were salad or hummus and pita, except they were out of hummus, so make that one option - salad. Fine. I ordered the salad and some raspberry iced tea. They must have had to plant, grow and harvest the lettuce, because it took every bit of 45 minutes to get a simple salad and drink, and they were not that busy. By this time, my associate had to leave. Never again will I pay $14 for a small salad and a glass of tea. I was even charged extra for raspberry-infused ice cubes.
This place sucks.

Pros: The tea was good?

Cons: Too long to get food, Too few options, Over-priced

Great smoothies & Veg Burger

Everything on the menu is clearly marked vegan, vegetarian for gluten free The salad of the day is always excellent and you can't go wrong with a peanut butter smoothie. People on Happy cow have been saying that the service is slow but it was not for us. They have cute outdoor seating right along the bay.

Not worth it

Went there with my husband for a late breakfast. Meals are overprized for what you get in my opinion: had the avocado toast (two small sizes of simple toast and about half an avocado) and was charged 10$! Would have expected something more inspired for the prize. Staff was not really paying attention, no welcoming atmosphere. I think it‘s overrated.

Yummy

It was really good, although it took a long time to make simple meals. Things that were vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free were labeled which made it easy to order on the menu. I ordered oatmeal and it took like 20 minuets, my sister ordered a breakfast sandwich (she is vegetarian) and it took her almost 40 minutes.

Pros: Delicious

Cons: took a long time to order

Very Bad Service

The place has a few descent Vegan options, but not well balanced dishes. I still ordered a simple avocado toast an a cup of tea, which took them almost 40 minutes to make. The outside siting doesn’t have any shade, so waiting out in the sun for a simple avocado toast was definitely a bad experience and would not come back here.

Overrated in my Opinion

Based on Happy Cow reviews, I could not wait to try this cafe. We went for lunch, and had a good veggie burger on whole grain toast, cooked from frozen. The accompaniments were unremarkable chips. The service was slow even though there was only one other couple at the cage. The bill, including two organic iced teas and two veggie burgers, was about $40. So my review: it was good, not amazing.

Awesome service, great food and drink, great location

Helpful, friendly and accommodating staff with yummy food, great vegan and vegetarian options in a nice location of Clearwater. Rock star coffee with milk alternatives including a nut "milk" they make in-house. Highly recommended!!

A great place in Clearwater Beach, FL

Although Basimo Beach Cafe is not strictly vegan, they are more than willing to accommodate. The Green Lemonade was sweet, tart, and refreshing. For breakfast I had oatmeal with flax, bananas and coconut milk. It was perfect. We will definitely revisit on our next trip to Clearwater Beach.

Not Open

We came in on Sunday morning just before 10 and the place was closed. The listing for the restaurant said that they were open from 8 a.m. til 3 p.m. on Sunday. When you're on the beach and have guests with dietary restrictions, and the one place that they may be able to eat at is closed it is very frustrating. We did eat here one other time for lunch and it was good. The actual food selection is small, but with healthy eating options being very limited on the beach it's nice that this place is available. They need to be more clear about their hours. They weren't even posted on the door.
