Very welcome vegan option in Split - Edit
Cute little restaurant down a side street - we had the Barakokula cocktail (highly recommend very refreshing) and pinacolada, then the burrito to start (could have used a little more balsamic but still good) and the truffle gnocchi with the sexy tofu. Both were good but the tofu was superb.

The server we had was very sweet and helpful when picking out food and just had a good energy. I had the truffle gnocchi which was delicious and creamy. We shared mango pastas and the cheese choices there were very good and there was a large variety. I also had a spongy cake which tasted great. Also later in the week had tofu scramble toast for brunch with coffee which was also amazing.

Посредственна храна, опитах секси тофу,представиха ми го като топ ястие, но се оказа обикновено пюре от батат и препържено тофу. Опитахме и сладоледът им, направен е с твърде много кокосова мазнина и почти не се яде. След трета, четвърта хапка не искаш да си помислиш за повече!

Different selection of plant based food at a reasonable price for the setting. Disappointed that we ordered potato chips expecting fries to be presented with a small bowl of warmed up crisps. Not worth €5.50. Apart from this the food was delicious.

it’s a nice place in a backyard. pretty calm. there’s a bar right next to it for a drink after. we had the burger and sweet potatoe fries. it was very delicious ngl but it’s soooo expensive. 15€ for a burger? you have to order fries as a side dish they’re not included and it’s 6€ extra. I mean it’s a tourist place and a big city… but that’s crazy. would eat here again probably because there’s not much vegan opportunities around.

Really good tofu and beet tartar - Edit
We stopped for dinner at Barakokula. The restaurant is not straight forward to find, there isn’t an obvious sign outside, you only see it once you have located the correct courtyard, so it’s easy to walk past. We tried the beet tartar as a starter, for mains we had the sexy tofu and the risotto. The beet tartar was yummy, the bottom layer was a sort of cracker topped by a creamy avocado layer, then the beet layer, and topped with beluga lentils and salty cheeze. The sexy tofu was also really good. Asian inspired coated tofu on a bed of sweet potato mash. Unfortunately the black rice risotto was less of a win. It was rather uninteresting, on the bland side, slightly earthy with a hint of balsamic vinegar. We wouldn’t order it again. All in all, a decent restaurant. Not offensive, but not all the dishes are equally impressive either.

The food here was good. We had the burrata, the sexy tofu and the beetroot tartare. The burrata was excellent, the beetroot tartare needed a bit more bread and the sexy tofu feels a little bit incomplete - we had it with fries which I think was a good choice. It was all tasty. If I went back again I’d probably immediately have the burrata. Great to have a fully vegan option and the staff were friendly and helpful.
