Really, go here now - Edit
The vegan bake is excellent! Warm, feeling, hug-in-a-meal. I can't wait to try the vegan chow mein because it sells out. Portland really has excellent cart options for vegans.

One of the best food trucks in PDX - Edit
With so many carts falling under the category of "oh...another one of those..." it's awesome for Portland to have Guyanese cuisine represented here. The chana bake is probably my favorite but the dahl and vegan chow mein is really good as well.

A gem on the west coast - Edit
Well done Guyanese food, a rare find here on the west coast (or anywhere in the USA outside of the NYC metro area for that matter). Guyanese chow mein defies any preconceived notions — this chef’s version is so special and so good. The bake with channa is pure magic. The cup of dal is simply outstanding. Don’t forget to try the desserts. Highly recommended; I hope to visit again and again in the months ahead. Very friendly and kind staff.

Chana from Guyana - Edit
The Chana (chickpeas, potatoes, peas, and rice) was slightly spicy, so I preferred the Dahl (yellow split peas and rice), which was also flavorful, but mild. Both were served with pepper sauce.

RUN GO NOW - Edit
The owner of this food truck knows what they're doing. I was checking out the Little America, and I was enticed by a sample of daal and fry bread. Their food is really similar to other flavors I've had before, but they're just a little different (and dare I say more delicious?)
Read moreI tried their Chana fry bread, daal, and chow mein with some friends. The fry bread is the star of the show- so if you're getting anything, definitely get that. It's similar to a very savory donut
Also, this is the only place to get Guyanese food in N&S America west of New York!! Go try it

Delicious - Edit
The food truck is at the hawthorne asylum food pod. It has multiple vegan options including the bake and the daal. They were delicious. The hawthorne asylum has many food carts with vegan options so it is definitely worth the trip!
