good food - Edit
oriental snack and fast food in an international atmosphere and a location, where the police sometimes run behind some people in black clothes while you eat around your corner. Really fair prices, fresh food and uncomplicated, friendly, with old low-budget furniture and oriental music.

Simple and good, par excellence - Edit
Authenticity ain't everything - and that's coming from someone who lived for years in the Middle East. Anyone familiar with "traditional" falafel will know this isn't the place to find that...but that's a good thing.
Read moreThey make sort of a wrap stuffed with their version of falafel along with whatever "antipasti" you see fit to deposit in it (all prepared fresh & on display in their cold case). It's actually really tasty and satisfying, even more so for a just a few bucks. Big servings, delicious food, and you can sit, eat, and have a beer, while chatting with their charming staff.
They have other offerings as well. Best you drop by and have a look.
Pros: Just plain good, Inexpensive food

Delicious vegan falafel - Edit
The place is very neat and cosy. The portions are huge and extremely tasty. The falafel plate comes every time with different salads on it, which is also very nice.

A big let down - Edit
Used to go here very often, until I realized that the owner treats his employees terribly. There is always a "hiring" sign posted, people seems to constantly quit. The food is pretty good, but the portions are small, and the service is extremely slow. If you want a good falafel, check out "Falafelstern"!

Good value - Edit
Big portions and delicious food - except for the pita bread which I took one bite of and then left in its basket. It just tasted old and stale. The rest, however, was delicious and we only paid about 20 € for two (huge) dishes and two drinks.

Cheap, good food. Slow service. - Edit
My partner and I came here for dinner on a Friday evening and the place was really busy. Good thing most people were just getting takeaway so we had no problem finding a table.
Read moreWe ordered a falafel and a kibba platters to share. Both were excellent and can be made vegan upon request. I was disgusted by the complimentary pita bread though, not so much because it was some commercial one that came out of a plastic bag, but because it was served all cold and stale. Totally vile. Mind you, this is coming from a person who very rarely refuses bread. The service also left much to be desired. It was so slow. First, the guy behind the counter, who I guess was the owner, assembling plates and making wraps from different trays of food in front of him, was slow. Then there were these two girls working there buzzing around the whole place doing everything from cleaning up and taking orders to preparing food and running the register. It was completely disorganized. When we walked up to one of them to pay, she told us she couldn't do it because she wasn't the one that took our order and didn't know which bill was ours. So we waited for the "right" waitress, who took our money and went right back to making wraps without washing her hands. We didn't get sick after, but I wouldn't be surprised if somebody did seeing how they do things there.
I would recommend this place only for its food and prices. The meal cost us less than €20 including a drink and a beer. Just avoid the busy hours or do takeaway.
Pros: great food, good value
Cons: slow, disorganized service, awful bread

Falafel & More - Edit
Absolutely top draw middle eastern food here in cosy and friendly surroundings. The falafel is superb, cooked to perfection to their own recipe. However, there is much more than falafel here; you can also get dishes of stuffed peppers, chick peas, aubergines, humous, haloumi & other cheeses. They serve beer, soft drinks and speciality teas. There is also ample seating with a wonderful low table area in a side room. Very friendly staff and good prices.

Good falafel! - Edit
A small falafel restaurant with lots of vegan items. Nothing special and really no place to take a date, but nice for a short break inbetween hoping bars or clubs. Cheap too.

a great veggie restaurant! - Edit
located in an alley close to the lively schanzenviertel, this restaurant is a fantastic place to eat. the food is authentic arabic cuisine, many dishes are vegan, most vegetarian dishes can also be made vegan. the staff is very friendly and welcoming. the quality of the food is very good. the falafel are freshly made and just delicious. they also serve thinly sliced baked potatoes with oriental spices and hummus (try this one!) or falafel-plate with falafel, several salads/antipasti and hummus or sesame sauce. sometimes it's a little bit crowded in there, but even then you don't have to wait too long for your meal. if you visit hamburg you should really give this place a try!
