Plant-based restaurant offering a menu that blends Mediterranean soul with a modern edge. Mornings feature a brunch line-up including the “Avit Breakfast” with fluffy toasted brioche, scrambled tofu, vegan bacon, and avocado, Maple French toast topped with strawberries, Chantilly cream, and basil. For something in between brunch and lunch, try the crispy clubhouse sandwich. Dinner includes starters like beef tomato tartar and mushroom calamari fritti, hearty mains like bucatini bacciatore, pepper steak, or the famous truffle cheeseburger. You will be tempted by all the dishes but don't skip dessert: their baklava cheese cake is one of the best sweet you'll ever taste!

Nice interior, friendly staff - Edit
Wasn’t blown away by the food. The moussaka was ok, the burrito wrap tasted nice but was really small and looked a little sad. For the price, compared with other places, I think we expected better. The lady working there wad lovely though and the bread was delicious. It has a smart interior and would be a nice dinner spot (we went for lunch).

👍🏻 - Edit
We got the vodka pasta for two, the Greek with a twist salad, sourdough and the baklava cheesecake.
Read moreThe pasta was good but didn’t really taste like vodka pasta - more like just a cheesy pink sauce pasta. Didn’t get the chili and vodka notes.
The salad was really nice, but it’s a huge portion.
I didn’t really like the sourdough bread - tasted too dark? for my liking.
And the baklava cheesecake was delicious.

Absolutely loved. Nice place for a family dinner - Edit
As I say, I absolutely loved visiting Avit with my family for dinner. It’s a lovely smart-but-relaxed vibe and a nice place to bring your parents.
Read moreWe started with the beef tomato tartare (great), the oyster mushroom ‘calamari’ with a creamy dip (incredible - try it) and the ‘meatballs’ (great). For dinner I had the Lion’s Mane steak (incredible! So yummy) and I got a good look at the moussaka too.
Everyone is talking about the baklava cheesecake as well, with good reason. This comes freshly scooped, in front of your eyes, and is creamy, sweet and absolutely delicious.
Service is top-notch too, and the vibe was grand - the lighting in the room dropping throughout the night to create a warm, intimate vibe during dessert. Thank you, Avit. I will be back.
Pros: Food, Staff, Vibe
Cons: No baby changing facilities

Wow - Edit
Everything was top notch. Amazing meatballs and bread. The baklava cheesecake was delicious and I don't typically like cheesecake - this one was very sweet and fluffy, not cheesy.

Great starters - Edit
The mushroom calamari and the sausage and hummus were spectacular dishes. Really tasty, perfect crunch on the calamari and decent portions too. I'd recommend bread with the hummus starter, it's really good sourdough for dipping.
Read moreThe mains weren't completely my cup of tea. The steak dish was tasty, but it felt like something was missing. Perhaps a touch bland. The burger sliders were huge. Far too much for sliders! I'd have preferred the burgers more separate to the sauce to dip as I went; the bread was already soaked and hard to pick up, let alone eat.
Pricey per person if you order as normal. But in fairness, portion wise, probably worth the cost. Just be aware you could share some mains and get a side or a dessert instead!

Pricey but mostly high quality - Edit
The good:
Read moreGreat service, delicious starters (calamari and sausage/hummus), lovely mushroom steak dish. Clearly these dishes have had a lot of care put into them. I am going to try and recreate the sausage/hummus at home as it's a combo I wouldn't have thought worked but it's very good!
The bad:
pricey compared to most (€3 bread charge for a wedge of sourdough). The sliders seem to be on the menu begrudgingly. They are too large and the burgers and sauce become a homogeneous mass that is a generally unpleasant experience to eat.

Crème brûlée - Edit
I went for the baklava cheesecake but it has peanuts (allergy) so I pivoted to the crème brûlée and I’m so glad it worked out this way. It was very very good

Mediocre experience - Edit
Came to the resturant at 830pm to try their lion's mane mushroom steak, but they were out of it. Then asked for the burger sliders, but they were out of them. We ended up just getting the moussaka. We started with the me*ball terokafteri and the hummus and sausage. We ordered bread as well. The bread was fresh and amazing. The ME*ball dish was not good. It was 3 small meatballs (reminded me of frozen gardin brand) on a small bed of a spread that tasted to my unrefined palate like hummus. It was very uninspiring. The hummus and sausage was very well prepared and quite tasty, but the portion was small. The moussaka was just not good. It was bland and seemed to be missing the vegan meat substitute that would have brought the texture and flavor together. Their signature dessert, the baklava cheesecake, was very good, and the portion was too large for us to finish. The service was excellent, we were sorry that the food did not match it. I can't recommend this restaurant, but to be fair, I did not have the dishes that I went there to experience.

Classy with traditional Greek option - Edit
This was a nice change of pace from the very casual counter-service type restaurants. Was classy with delicious & creative cocktails. Menu had some traditional Greek options such as moussaka. My favorite part was a baklava cheesecake. I dream about it still. Went the next night just for dessert and a cocktail.

Great dining experience in the heart of Athens - Edit
The service at Avit was amazing, even before we arrived our reservation was super taken care of. After some kitchen issues we arrived a little later and had all the restaurant for our self. The menu is packed with great things and we had some amazing Cesar salad, Lino’s mane mushroom steak and the Chitarra pasta.
Read moreWe especially recommend the gratin coming with the steak the most. But steak and pasta were also an excellent choice. The drinks were also great we recommend Crossroads and the one with ginger, 10/10! The baklava cheese cake in the end blew our mind and of course is a must for everyone dining here. Thanks again for this wonderful first evening in Athens. And hopefully see you sooner than later.

Large portions with unique taste - Edit
We were a couple, and we ordered the calamari fritti, greek salad, lion's mane, and burger twin. It was a bit too much for us. Portions were big and fulfilling.
Read moreThe ingredients tasted fresh and of high quality.
I would have reduced the quantity of the pickles in the burger since it was too sour for our taste.
