Enjoyed this! - Edit
Not an expert on Malay food. So many Malay restaurants exist on Cuba St but this one is pure vegetarian. Many things were about 12 to 15 dollars and I really enjoyed my stir fried noodles. It was a decent sized portion too.

All time fave - Edit
Aunty menas never fails to amaze with their ability to produce tasty food that’s tried-and-true. The wonton noodle soup is one of my all time favourites closely followed by the laksa.

Very delicious Wonton soup with excellent flavour - Edit
I have miscalculated the flight time and they were able to quickly make my food to be able to catch the plane even though it was busy. Happily surprised about the plant based packaging!

Big choice of veg*n dishes - Edit
The welcome was quick and we were directly led to a table. The order was taken immediately and the food was served a short time after that.
Read moreThey really have a lot of vegan and vegetarian dishes which you all want to try😄
The food itself was very good. There were not so many noodles in our dishes, so if you are craving for having noodles, maybe this isn't the real "pasta place", even if noodles are mentioned in the dish description :-)
We were placed on a table in the middle of the room, near the kitchen. It was a little bit restless as the staff was constantly passing by our table. The service was friendly.
Accepts no credit cards (I wanted to pay with VISA, which wasn't possible).
Pros: Veg*n, Finally veg*n chinese food :-)
Cons: Accepts no credit cards, Busy place (which is good for them :-)

Too oily / deep fried - Edit
I do not agree with the other reviewers. Sure, you have a lot of choices and it feels great to eat in an all vegan restaurant! But most menu items are quite oily or deep fried. So not really healthy. We decided to go elsewhere next time.

Positive experience, would go back - Edit
It was a busy Thursday night at Aunty Menas. We didn't make a reservation but that wasn't an issue.
Read morePlease note: lots of oil is used. It's definitely not for the 'healthy' vegans out there.
Entree
- Spring rolls (3 per serve)
Yummy, with a tasty dipping sauce.
Would recommend.
- Satay (5 per serve)
Slices of gluten (?) With a satay dipping sauce. It was awkward to dip the slice.
Wouldn't recommend.
Main

Yummmm, delicious. Large serving sontake a container to take home left overs.
Would recommend.
- 'Chicken' Laksa
Overall a delicious meal, only con is there was too much mock chicken.
Pros: Lots of options, Attentive staff/ fast service, Large meals / value for money

Delicious Vegan Malaysian Food - Edit
Want comforting, delicious, inexpensive vegan food? Then you have to go here. With so many different options, the only thing you have to ask yourself is what you should order. I can vouch for the "chicken" laksa, as well as the satay skewers. I would have tried more if I had a second stomach... But we will definitely be going back any time we are in Wellington!

Authentic and delicious - Edit
Came here on a cold rainy day and ordered the tom yum noodles and the laksa with noodles. Also ordered the dumplings as a starter. We were hungry and cold and these noodles were the perfect thing to warm us up and we left very full and happy. The food is full of classic flavours - the tom yum was perfectly zingy and the laksa was rich and coconut-y. I wish I lived in Wellington so I could have Aunty Mena's all the time! Service was also friendly and warm. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Quick and easy - Edit
Found Aunty Mena's by chance walking around Cuba St.
Read moreHad spring rolls and dumplings. At 8 o'clock on a Friday night we didn't have to wait long. The place was busy with lots of diners and plenty of choice on the menu.
The owner confirmed they were all vegan. The food was oily but what do you expect for deep fried spring rolls and fried dumplings?
They were both delicious. Wish I had more time to try other items on the menu.
Pros: Cheap and extensive menu
Cons: Car parking could be difficult

Favorite place in NZ? - Edit
I'm still deciding if this should win the award of best place in New Zealand or it should go to Sunflower Thai in Auckland.

Yum! - Edit
Good value veg meal. The noodles we had were delicious, although a little spicier than expected (not a problem for us but something to be wary of- we had planned to feed some to my child).

Had such a nice meal while in Wellington at Aunt Mena’s - lots of fresh veggies - everything is made to order - and really good veggie balls, veggie slice, and tofu. Had the Lanska. Highly recommend.

A classic vegan staple in Wellington - Edit
Tasty vegan dishes, huge portions, cheap prices, and friendly staff. I would highly recommend the faux chicken laksa.
Read moreAn amazing place to go with friends or by yourself for a cheap and yummy meal. A very social and open environment with large tables able to seat big groups of people.
A nice place to meet other vegans too because Aunty Mena's is 100% vegan.
However, if you like a more private eating environment this place isn't for you.
