We've been here twice on our annual road trip through Germany and each time been totally satisfied. We come in a big group (8-10+ on a weeknight) with short notice, and they are always friendly and accommodating. The carrot ginger soup is fantastic and the salad fresh and enjoyable. There are also cooked dishes that looked like good portions of hearty foods. Did not see buffet.

Unfortunately underwhelming - Edit
We visited the 'Aubergine' several years ago without a lasting impression. Now a second chance with the "Schlemmerbuffet" on Sundays. The price of 25.80 € per person is not exorbitantly high, but raises some expectations.

What remained: a pumpkin soup, two types of salad (carrot & coleslaw), some small trays with main dishes and grapes, pineapple, melon. The displayed desserts were all non-vegan, but they offered to get a vegan tiramisu from the kitchen.
Anyway, amount of options is appropriate and we have to remember that we are in Fulda.
The taste unfortunately was without highlights. Main dishes had little variety: different stews that submerged their individual components. Also too much based on bland soja/tofu. I tried a bit of everything. Apart from the soup I never had the urge to go and get more.
A sign next to the main buffet lists vegan items marked with 'V'. Unfortunately, there are no signs next to the trays, so the mapping gets difficult and you ultimately have to ask the staff. There is no indication of vegan/vegetarian status for the salads, starters and desserts.
I expected a bit more from this long-established vegetarian restaurant. They once were trailblazers, but it feels like they haven't evolved any further in the past years. To be honest, I also hold them to higher standards than a random omni restaurant. They advertise themselves as "idealistic" with "love for humans and animals". Not sure how you can walk past the "Animals are our friends" posters on the toilet every day without at some point getting the idea that milk and eggs are maybe not in line with your "idealism".

The restaurant is totally cute and cozy. There is a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. The mushroom goulash and minced steak and tiramisu were just great.

Rein vegetarisches Restaurant mit einigen veganen Gerichten. Sehr sehr lecker. Sehr freundlicher Service und gemütliche Umgebung. Toller Wintergarten und es gibt auch eine kleine Terrasse. Empfehlenswert!

Ich kann mich den vorangegangenen Bewertungen leider gar nicht anschließen. Vor ca. 10 Jahren war ich hin und wieder mit meinem Mann in der Aubergine essen, weil das Essen einfach lecker war. Meistens waren wir Sonntags zum Buffet da. Vor etwa 4-5 Jahren wurde das Lokal vergrößert, gleichzeitig hat die Qualität des Essens und die Sauberkeit extrem abgenommen. Die letzten 4 Jahre waren wir nicht mehr dort. Nachdem wir aber immer wieder gutes von der Aubergine gehört hatten, waren wir dieses Wochenende nach der langen Zeit mal wieder zum Buffet in der Aubergine. Unsere Erwartungen wurden leider erneut enttäuscht. Der Boden, die Gläser und die Wasserflasche waren dreckig. Es gab nur wenige vegane Gerichte. Mein Mann probierte aber auch das vegetarische Angebot. Das Essen war sehr fettig, lieblos gewürzt und hat uns nicht besonders geschmeckt. Auch die Art der ausgewählten Speisen hat unsere Erwartungen an ein vegetarisches Restaurant nicht erfüllt. Die Bedienung lies auch zu wünschen übrig. Obwohl fast nichts los war, stapelten sich die Teller am Tisch.

I went there for lunch on a weekday. Wow! what a buffet they offer for a good price as well. Many options to choose, maybe half vegan, half vegetarian.

I frequently eat there, it is by far the best vegetarian Restaurant I know in the large Frankfurt area. Very good taste, typical german and international dishes, both on vegetable style as well as fake meat dishes.

They have a monthly menue with related to the years time. Bring some apetite with you to have this!
The people there are very nice, relaxed and helpful.
My personal recommendation: The Carrot Ingwer cream soup, the Hungarian Seitan Gulasch, Marzipan sushi and one or two of the organic beers from Rother. Yummy!

Wonderful food, people and atmosphere - Edit
My mother and I ate here before a concert, and the food was the best part of the day (sorry, Roger Cicero)! The best vegetarian food I have eaten in Germany by far. The all-you-can-eat menu is slightly expensive but completely worth it. And the alcohol-free beer is cheap and great (an entire litre's worth!).
