Serves meat, vegan options available. Thai restaurant. Has tofu for all dishes, and owner understands what vegan means. Relocated from 157 Monticello Ave.
Closed Monday.
You have to ask for veganiable dishes if you don't know what already is. Just confirm no eggs in noodle type, yellow typically egged btw.
Good amount of choices, fried tofu and sauce app was great, spring rolls were cute and tasty. Good house dip sauce.
Curry made vegan was good, basil rice nice, their flat noodle was nicely done. Vegetables in brown sauce was nicely done, seemed fresh to me not frOzen as some places use that in lieu of fresh.
Nice spot, friendly service.
quick and tasty. we would have liked to give it 5 stars. - Edit
we came here after being at busch gardens all day, and i'm super happy about the decision. we chose this location out of the many options listed here because the listing assured us that the owner clearly understands what veganism is, so it was really nice not having to worry about making sure we tell the server specifics of how to alter the dishes to be vegan.
the listing also says to talk to the server to see which items would be able to be made vegan, so we drove there rather than ordering ahead for takeout. but if you prefer ordering ahead, i'll tell you what they told me. the appetizers are made ahead of time, so the only vegan options available are the fried tofu (A2) fresh roll (A4) and crispy spring roll (A6) as for meals, they said anything on the inside of the menu can be made vegan. (that's basically everything aside from the appetizers and chef's specials, along with the desserts, but i didn't specifically ask for clarification on desserts. it's possible they might be veganizable?) either way, it took less than 10 minutes for our food to be prepared, so you might not even need to call ahead. (but we did order around 8 or 9 pm) the people working there were incredibly friendly and kind.
we got the drunken noodles and the crispy spring rolls. both were very good, and hit the spot. the drunken noodles were perfectly chewy with really nice fresh basil flavor. very noodle heavy. it had only about 10 cubes of tofu. we shared it between 2 of us, so it would have been nice to have a tiny bit more tofu. but it was still perfectly filling. and a reasonable serving for 2.
the spring rolls had just the right level of doneness. nice and crisp. flavor was classic crispy spring roll.
This is seriously the best Thai food I've had in a really long time. Plenty of vegan options. The spring rolls were what you would expect. The curries werew good. Three different curries were tried at our table. If you want your food spicy, it's definitely spicy. Not for anyone who likes their curry mild. I would give this place 5 stars if Happy Cow would allow it for a non-vegan restaurant.
