Not Vegan Friendly… - Edit
After reading the Happy Cow reviews and being stuck in Bari before our flight with limited other places open, we thought we’d try here….
Read moreNo one knew what Vegana was, but after a bit of google translate we were told the veggie burger was fine. Then we had the cook come out of the kitchen and ask if the bread needed to be vegan too…. We said everything vegan, no animal products, translated as we went. It all felt quite awkward. Then our burgers and fries arrive - the burger looked like a brioche bun so I was dubious, then there was not only cheese on top of the burger but also a creamy cheesey sauce underneath it. We didn’t eat them, ate the fries and then it was very awkward explaining when the waitress asked if we didn’t like them, or if we wanted to take them home… I think Happy Cow was very out of date with this place. There was no vegan menu as mentioned, or vegan options marked, and the place was empty with only older Italian guys….it felt more like a cover for the mafia or something 😅
Not a great place for vegans and very limited English considering the place is called Arnold’s American Diner…
