Gorge-io Armani - Edit
A hotel fronted by a luxury fashion brand, housed within arguably the most iconic building in the world: could there possibly be a more bougie Sunday brunch than this?
Read moreOnly adding to the sense of occasion was the ‘smart elegant’ dress code – never before have I been so well attired for a buffet. Although, it’s safe to say that a number of patrons didn’t quite adhere to the standard – far too many T-shirts and trainers on show for my liking!
These uncouth attendees notwithstanding, everything else about the restaurant, be it the decor, the views, or the staff, exuded pure class – the service in particular was first-rate.
Not to be outdone, the food, too, was suitably brilliant. No matter which section I explored, whether it was the starters containing the luscious caldo verde soup, the sides which offered up the outstanding tomato focaccia, or desserts housing the impossibly velvety raspberry & vanilla panna cotta, every foray into the spread saw me return with something of exceptional quality and unquestionable flavour.
Though all this would easily have been enough to warrant a rave review, the best was yet to come in the form of two dishes that were specifically curated by the chef and delivered to the table – mushroom risotto and truffle pizza. While the latter, with its chewy, perfectly textured dough, was incredible, it was the former that truly stole the show with its bold savour and unctuous creaminess.
As a final flourish – and really finishing with aplomb – an Armani-branded oat milk latte rounded off the meal perfectly.
From start to finish, this was a highly polished and greatly enjoyable experience. With ample variety and stellar hospitality, a return visit will be an absolute must.
