Wonderful variety, English no problem!

If you want a healthy vegan breakfast in Kyoto, it can be tricky. This lovely cafe, however, solves all your problems! It has one or two meat options also if you're traveling with a non-vegetarian, but the vegan stuff is so good here that they probably won't bother!

Pros: affordable, delicious, great range

very helpful, cute cafe, good location

Staff are very helpful in showing what products can be enjoyed by vegans/vegetarians. The manager can speak English, and understood veggie concepts well. A good place to go for breakfast or to grab a coffee and cake!

Pros: close to centre of town

Cons: not all products are vegetarian or vegan

breakfast and coffee

Great service - we both had the delicious Japanese breakfast which was good but the highlight was the coffee which was really great. Easy and relaxed vibe.

My Go-To spot:friendly, fresh, delicious

Location: across from Sunroute Hotel on Kawaramachi-dori btw Matsubara-dori & Takatsuji-dori, easy walking distance from the river, from Gion subway station. There's an awning & sign, a menu chalkboard outside with the name in English. This place is easy to find!

Ambiance & menu: the cafe will please.vegans and omnivores alike . It is open for breakfast, lunch, snacks (8AM-7PM) & serves good organic coffee , tea, smoothies, vegan baked goods, sandwiches & free wifi.

We had the vegetarian lunch special (1000 yen) a generous and tasty serving of miso soup, green salad and soy nuggets, Carrot -walnut salad , kinpira, and pickled veggies. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service quick and the hosts and menu are bilingual. They absolutely understand vegan and vegetarian tastes and can adjust the menu.
This is my go -to place in downtown Kyoto.

Pros: Vegan options , Fresh innovative dishes, Moderate prices

Yep

This is definitely more of a cafe than a restaurant, but as concise as the food menu was, all the options looked great. The set meal was perfect for a light lunch. The ambiance of the place had a definite youthful buzz to it. The owner was friendly and spoke a little english. They also something I found to be rare in Osaka and Kyoto: they had their own wifi!

Pros: Ambiance, Food, Wifi
