Nice small vegetarian place with loads of vegan options - Edit
We went to this place with 3 persons. The menu is all vegetarian and most of it is even vegan. The three of us shared some plates. We had the Jackfruit burger, the CHKN burger and the Kapsalon. It was all very nice.

We had the California Falafel and the Vegan Shawarma, along with the very fun Sun-Kissed non-alcoholic cocktail. What's so nice about vegetarian shawarma is that every bite is a good one. You don't get any gross fatty pieces or hard pieces of unknown origin. The portion of avocado on the California falafel was generous, but then again, the price reflects that. For extra freshness and texture, I put the tomatoes and most of the lettuce from the small side salad into the pita bread. The non-alcoholic cocktail was full of flavor from the pineapple and lime juices. It tasted (and looked) like a real cocktail, not just a fancy orange juice. A real festive treat for those who cannot or choose not to drink alcohol.

The staff were really friendly and helpful - happy to take time to translate bits of the menu for us despite being busy. Have the falafel - it’s one of the best we’ve had. Also the kapsalon fries. The vegan cheesecakes were gorgeous - they had a choice of 3. Lovely location overlooking main square

Best Vegan/Vegetarian spot in Leiden - Edit
I loved this place. It's a great place to hang out with a group, and you don't feel limited by the menu (whatever your diet is). It's also such a nice vibe. The prices are great for what you receive, but I wouldnt go there if I'm on a strict budget. It's too good!

We went in thinking it would be another overpriced “hip” restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised! Yes, the food is instaproof, but it also tasted delicious. We ordered a borrelplank to share and a side of nachos. It was plenty, we couldn’t finish although we wanted to - everything tasted great and was original. Staff was also friendly and the location is great. Prices are fair for what you get. Will definitely come here again to try all the other yummy food.

Nice place with quite a lot of vegan options. I would eat here more often if the food wasn't so expensive and the place would expand their opening hours. I ordered food at home a couple of times but this was always very disappointing. Only the burger came over without any damage to its taste.

Lots of standard veggie fare, e.g. pulled jackfruit, vegan burger, falafel and halloumi. We went for the pitas instead, with some very nice middle-eastern/levantine flavours. Big portions and just really well made. Also, I don't normally like shrimps, but the vegan versions served up here (made of tofu?) are great!

I was at Aloha with a friend yesterday to have some dinner. The food is delicious and not very expensive (about €12 per dish). Unfortunately one of the staff members wasn’t that nice, to be honest. When we asked some questions about coffees she kind of gave the feeling like she didn’t want to help us and reacted a bit strange. However, we still had a great time!

I did like their take on the kapsalon, was more healthy with lots of salad. Overall it didn't taste very wow though and for what we got I did feel like it was too pricey. In general I do think it is a nice place to try if you're in Leiden though. I liked the atmosphere there and the cocktails were great.

Read moreHalf of the menu is vegan. The snack section does not disappoint and we (husband and me) love to pair some of them with a beer or mocktail.
The Aloha burger is made from beets (I think) but kinda tastes like raw meatloaf. So not my favourite. I do love the vegan kapsalon. It's a vegan version of a snack that is mostly eaten when late+drunk. So it is supposed to look messy and they have done a good job :)
Staff is really nice, but I'd prefer a more pro-active attitude towards the empty glassess....
Pros: Good snacks, Variety to choose from as vegan, You can sit outside in summer

Checked out reviews and was really looking forward to some vegan street food in a nice location. What we got was tasteless overpriced generic food that was a far away from street food as you could get. The staff were friendly and accommodating but I feel the staff were let down by the mediocre food they had to serve
Read moreWould only recommend for maybe a drink/cocktail and maybe a snack to share like the nachos but would not recommend as a meal choice, menu states main course with an amazing side dish, however the side dish is at an extra cost.
Meal of 1 starter and a falafel wrap and a mezzo bowl with two alcohol free lagers came to nearly 50 euros, most expensive street food which was tasteless.
