Excellent place to have lunch before vising Frank Lloyd Wright's home and studio - Edit
We were four people, everybody had something different from the menu with variety. Everybody liked their meal. The place is tidy and smallish, but not too small. I had a cinnamon tea and expected it to have lots of sugar as we are in the U.S. but was delighted to find that this drink was healthy and not too sweet. A strong recommendation.

We had the soy chunk w/ mashed potatoes, rainbow rolls (they were H.U.G.E.), the best corn chowder I’ve ever had, and mango lassi. Everything was absolutely amazing and the server was super friendly and kind. I was also very happy to see that all the takeout was served in compostable containers and very well packed (leak-proof).

If you’re anywhere near here you have to eat here, the food was amazing. I had the ‘chunk with mashed potatoes’ which may not sound appetising, but it was one of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten! Had a slice of chocolate cake for dessert too that was heaven. Seriously so good!

My son and I went there for a lunch date. This was our first visit and I loved the cozy atmosphere. My son ordered the satay skewers with peanut sauce and Vietnamese vinegar dip complimented the skewers. I ordered the Banh Mi Sandwich. The spicy sauce was on the side, but realized it wasn't that spicy for me. My only issue was the water tasted like tap water and wasn't cold. If they added bottled water with ice or filtered water it would have been better.

We tried the banh mi and the fettuccine alfredo. We both loved the banh mi, and one of us enjoyed the fettuccine (I found it a bit plain and dry — not enough sauce).

Best vegan fettuccine Alfredo - Edit
I’ve been to the north side location a few times before they opened in oak park and have loved their Kung pao and desserts and soups. I miss the Kung pao at this location but I have found some great substitutes. The fettuccine Alfredo is one of, if not my favorite , entree. I ordered the tonkatsu soup with the bakn and it is very good! I’m ready to try the pho and the new pasta dish. Everything is good at Alice and friends. Im glad they’re closer to me now!!

I ordered the banh mi and matcha cheesecake and wowwww. The TVP was so “meaty” I literally did a double take, amazing texture and flavor. I asked for spicy mayo and they actually delivered! I was so pleased it was legitimately spicy.
Read moreThe matcha cheesecake tasted like a creamy matcha latte. Super rich, intensely green, with that grassy bitterness, this dessert was strictly for real matcha lovers.
What I really love is that they don’t hold back on flavor. So many places tone everything down and end up bland or overly sweet to please a general palette, but not here. Everything was bold, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. This was some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had. I can't wait to go back.

Read moreThe staff is very friendly, and I had the runaway potatoes today, which have a good amount of spiciness and are really delicious. This location is a bit smaller, and you can't reserve, but when we came there was a free table, and others cleared up around 15 minutes after we arrived.

I went here with my friend who isn’t vegan and we both loved our meals. He got the mac n cheese and I ordered the laksa. I didn’t try his dish but he said he was really impressed, and mine was so flavorful and delicious. I also love the decor and artwork in the restaurant. Our server was Nash, and he was great. Can’t wait to go back!

The Oak Park Alice and Friends is not quite the same as the others. Most of the menu is the same but they have different permanent menu dishes that the other locations do not have and they are delicious. Staff is super friendly as usual.

Tried the dumplings, rainbow roll, noble burger and mashed potatoes. All were delicious especially the dumplings and mashed potatoes!! My husband got Graces Teriyaki and really liked it.
