Yes it's inside a gas station but

It's literally so delicious! I got the vegan gyro and I was very impressed by how good it tasted. Perfect lunchtime spot.

Don’t be fooled by location

Aleko’s cafe is a small place and a breadth of fresh air in Middletown Md just west of Frederick. Growing up in a Greek household I’m familiar with the foods this place makes. Having been vegan for the past 15 years it’s a joy to find authentic foods that use vegan or plant based options. The seitan Gyro is superb just pace on the tsaziki. Also make aawesome falafel. There is a carry out by same. Are in Hagerstown on North street.

Pros: Vegan Gyro, Falafel, Dolmathes made w/o meat

Cons: Outdoor seating not really a con, Housed within an Exxon station

Perfect Meal After Camping !

We had the spanakopita, vegetarian sampler platter, boardwalk fries, and some baklava to go. The food was delicious and very fresh. There are a number of very good vegetarian and vegan options here. Dining is outside only or take out. There is a little covered area with tables to sit at.
The restaurant is actually located in the Exxon gas station; took us a sec to figure that out.
This place was pretty busy; I think it’s pretty popular with the locals.

Pros: Lots of vegetarian/ vegan options., Friendly staff

Cons: Outdoor or take out only.

Amazing gyro!

I just finished my vegetarian gyro and man it was so good! The seitan they used wasn’t dry at all like I’m so used to it being. And the cashier offered to sub the tzaziki sauce with a bunch of yummy hummus. I really recommend if ur driving by and looking for something to eat😄

Pros: Super flavorful and delicious !

Cons: Just a couple vegan options

I love Alekos

Both locations (Middletown, Hagerstown) are incredibly friendly and their food is delicious. They are always more than happy to “veganize” food items. They also carry veganaise to sub for tzatiki. The just started carrying the Impossible burger in Hagerstown.
