Nice place - Edit
The restaurant has a clean atmosphere, and the service is good. The taste is also excellent. However, please note that the price has been raised to 1,790 yen.

Tasty vegan broth - Edit
Refer to my review of this chain ramen restaurant located in ropongi. The atmosphere is nicer here. Same friendly patient staff and fast service. Still no options for extra noodles. Noodles and broth were not super hot. Non vegan son really liked the Tsukemen noodles, thicker and more chewy than ramen noodles.

Solid Ramen - Edit
Good, but not great. One vegan option. It’s not super flavorful unless you get the spicy sauce. It’s pleasant and seems healthy enough. The beer with yuzu is nice and refreshing. It’s on the expensive side. Like ¥3000 for ramen and a beer.

Good ramen and quick service - Edit
Went at around 8:30pm and there was a queue of around 6 people in front of us.
Read moreRamen itself was topped with various vegetables and soup was light which went well with the noodles.
You order at the machine at the entrance and when you get inside, you are served quickly. Very quick turn around in the venue
Staff were friendly and spoke a little English. I was surprised at how much more the vegan option was in comparison to the non vegan options (I paid ¥1690)
Pros: Good ramen , Veg heavy
Cons: Just veg on the ramen (veg had been mostly boiled), A little expensive

Nice ramen - Edit
I had their vegan ramen. There was only one option. I liked that the soup wasn’t salty. Loved the texture of noodles. The presentation was beautiful. My colleague (not vegan) ordered cold ramen by mistake and they replaced it with warm ones for free! Great service.

One of preferred ramen restaurants girls would like - Edit
It’s known for its light and flavorful soup as a ramen. I’m so glad that they now also released the vegetarian version. With great amount of veggies topping, and confit tomato hidden below, I really enjoy the myriad layers.

Chain restaurant with one tasty vegan ramen option - Edit
Rainbow Ramen, clear broth with dried tomatos adding a nice flavour, Afuri is a nice chain restaurant, so you can get this ramen soup all over Tokyo

Lovely ‘citric’ ramen - Edit
Only one option in the menu, but interesting explosion of more citric flavours in what almost tasted like a ‘Mediterranean’ inspired ramen

Too expensive - Edit
At around 22:00 on a Friday night, I had to wait outside for a bit behind a couple of parties. I was a bit peeved by the drunk guy who had his head down on the table and taking up a valuable dining spot. (I ended up with the seat right next to him, so I got to continue directing daggers from my eyes at him throughout my meal.)
Read moreWhen it was my turn to make my selection on the touchscreen vending machine, I found the Rainbow Vegan ramen in the special items section. For what you get, this is a really expensive bowl. The noodles are the super-thin kind, which is not my favorite. There are some nice vegetables in the bowl, but there's no plant protein source or even yuzu, which is their signature flavoring in their omnivorous ramen offerings. I did like the sun-dried tomatoes and grilled cauliflower though.
The search for good vegan ramen continues...
Pros: lots of vegetables, English language option on vending machine
Cons: really expensive, can be a wait

Afuri - Edit
The first time I stopped by Afuri in Ebisu, they had run out of the vegan ramen, and I had to go elsewhere. That said, if you're going for this option, go early.
Read moreWhen you enter this location, there is a machine where you need to order your ramen. The vegan ramen is clearly marked for those interested in this option. After ordering, you pass your ticket to one of the workers when they ask for it and then you wait in line for a place to sit. I actually think this is quite efficient.
Now to the point. The vegan ramen looked beautiful and I was excited to dig my chopsticks into it. However, the broth needed some help (it was bland) and made the whole soup boring. The noodles were also super thin and were slightly overcooked. That said, this was not enjoyable and I did not bother eating more than half of my ramen/broth (and I *always* finish the broth). Hopefully this was fluke...I might consider trying one of their sister locations next time to see if there's a difference.

Easy, tasty Udon - Edit
I went to Afuri with my omni-eating mum. She was able to get something she was satisfied with, and I was happy with my hot and tasty udon. You order and pay at the machine by the entry, then get seated once something is available. There’s only one vegan option (udon in broth with veggies) but it’s tasty, and still reasonably rare to come by vegan broth even in Tokyo!
