The wonderful assortment of breads I was served before my main course. The server who brought it to me initially served the bread with a dish of butter, but the one who had taken my main course order quickly realised this, came to my table and asked if I was vegan. When I confirmed, he graciously took away the butter and returned with accompaniments that were, in my opinion, far better than any non-dairy butter: olive oil, salt and fresh, local herbs.
