Portuguese dishes made in vegan!

Portuguese dishes in vegan - nice! Slightly sophisticated restaurant, which makes it a special experience but you can go there with your street wear.
Drawback: You cannot really sit outside (doors are open) and it seems a bit stuffed with tables. Nonetheless, recommended!

Very pleasant

Very nice and pleasant place with friendly people and a classy vibe. The food was very good but honestly the seitan steak with fried potatoes was a bit plain and could’ve used more flavour. Still a very good plant-based dining experience.

Beautiful dining experience

We had a fantastic meal at 26 Vegan. The setting was stunning and I really enjoyed my first Francesinha experience and the crème brûlée was as close to the original I think it could have been. Thank you!

Portuguese classics made vegan

I really enjoyed my visit to 26 vegan.
The restaurant itself is located in a lovely courtyard at the bottom of an old building and it creates a really nice atmosphere.
The staff were friendly and very attentive and the food was excellent. I particularly enjoyed their crème brûlée

Pros: Great atmosphere , Friendly staff, Great desserts

Traditional food made vegan

Another great dining experience in Lisboa!
We love exploring different countries through their food and finding a very high quality restaurant with a fine dining vibe that is still affordable was an absolute blessing.
Loved everything from the decor, to the service to the dishes. A must when in Lisboa!

Pros: very high quality for a fair price, friendly and accommodating staff, great atmosphere

Best vegan restaurant I’ve been to

I’ve been to many vegan restaurants in many different countries and this has been the most enjoyable. Tofu a lagareiro, francesinha, salada de polvo were my favourites. Lovely furniture and ambiance, friendly staff. (Visits mid 2023)

A must

Arriving at this place is already magical. Going down the stairs and finding this hidden gem already counts for the experience. We didn’t have a reservation but the lady at the door was very accommodating. The food was quite spectacular from presentation to flavours. Considering all the food we had plus drinks and the impeccable service, the bill was pretty reasonable.

And we went back a year later and they haven’t dropped the ball 🤩

Posh looking place but food not so great

We tried two out of the three burger options, opting for the first and last choices. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with both options, and even the potatoes didn't meet our expectations. Ultimately, we left feeling unsatisfied and both agreed that it wasn't to our liking. Whether it was just our taste preferences or something else, I'll leave that up for you to decide. Overall, wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

Pros: Service was good., Music wasn t very loud.

Cons: A bit overprice for what it was.

A bit disappointed

Although all vegan, I was a bit disappointed. I was still on my starter when the main course was served. They returned it to the kitchen, but such never happened ever before. Service said "sardines" was selleriac, but it sure looked like jackfruit. The main ravioli was ok, a bit dry inside. Friendly service though, but after all not sure whether I'd come back.

Pros: Sardines did not taste too fish with algae wrap

Cons: Not most attentive service, babaganoush tasted like sweet chutney

Upscale elevated dining, worth it

So trying to find a nice restaurant in Lisbon that serves vegan food was a little hard initially, the name of this place put me off because it seemed more like a store or fast food. But how wrong I was.
We ate here tonight, and I immediately made reservations for Saturday night which is my birthday and we made another reservation for our last night in Lisbon. Yes we liked that much!
A tip : make reservations and ask for the round tables by the window if you are a party of two or three . The rest of the restaurant has kind of packed 2 x 2 tables where you're kind of sitting very close to another party. And this place is very popular and gets crowded quickly. They also close after the lunch hour and reopen at 1900 hours.
I don't know what else I can say that so many other reviews have not already said, just suffice to say we were in heaven. Haven't had food like this since we went to Nics on Beverly in Los Angeles--and the prices here are much less expensive.
We got the cheese plate which was amazing, the seitan steak, the francesinha, the white chocolate and coconut cake, and the crème brûlée. Also had the leader of sparkling sangria with fresh fruit purée.

Great ambience and tasty food

A great restaurant with an amazing ambience in a hidden alley with a view to a green courtyard. Very peaceful. I went there for a lunch, but could also be a great dinner spot for a date. ‘octopus’(marinated mushroom) salad was flavorful and presented beautifully. The main entree was also served elegantly and was delicious.

Pros: Great ambience, Beautiful presentation , Great location (city center)

Get the francesinha

The sparkling sangria with pomegranate was delicious. We got the octopus starter with was mushrooms and seemed quite accurate but I didn't really enjoy the texture. The tofu fish dish was good but there wasn't loads of flavour other than seaweed. I really enjoyed the francesinha here. Seitan, sausage and mushrooms in bread with a tomato sauce. I do think the sauce tasted a bit like tinned soup though!

Best vegan restaurant in Lisbon!

Our favourite place we went while in Lisbon. The menu was vegan takes on Portuguese food which we wouldn’t have been able to try otherwise. Restaurant felt classy & nice atmosphere. Food was all absolutely delicious.

A hidden gem

This place is tucked away down some stairs and in amongst other buildings but that just makes finding the courtyard dining room all the more surprising. This restaurant sits in the broad bracket between cafe/bistro dining and fine dining - on the smarter end of that spectrum. The dishes here are clever. Sardines on toast. Octopus salad. Fish and potatoes. Not ‘fake meat’ as such, but clever representations of those things that give you the right taste and texture notes. Clever. And a good selection of desserts - a rarity in most restaurants. Loved it; try it!

Pros: La carte, Le service, Le prix

Pretty great

This is a beautiful restaurant with a little courtyard. I tried a few dishes that ranged from good to great. The best were the ‘ricotta ravioli’ the ‘mountain shadow’, & the appetizer sampler.

I didn’t enjoy the ‘tofu a lagareiro’ and thought the ‘francesinha’ was just alright. Overall, definitely worth a visit though.

Fine dining - vegan version

A lovely spot to enjoy vegan versions of traditional Portuguese food.
Fine dining experience (except the toilets. They should be better maintained!)

Reasonable prices, great service and attentive staff.

I recommend to book a table in advance. Ao 26 is a very popular spot.
