Scrumptious and amazing

Went to Blossom this past weekend for brunch and LOVED it. What a treat (and challenge!) it was to have a totally vegan menu! We ordered the Pink Lady and Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake for beverages; the juice was perfectly balanced and the shake was creamy and delicious. My boyfriend had a Butternut Squash soup and French Toast - I got the Tofu Scramble. The soup was to die for, the French Toast was practically eggy!, and the traditional scramble well done and yummy. The scramble came with a side of tempeh bacon, which was great - it was in the spirit of bacon, but it wasn't trying to "be" bacon. I have had some traumatic experiences with fake bacon, so this was a nice change. We split a Lemon Cake for dessert.. frosting was lovely, cake was eh. Waitstaff was wonderfully attentive and friendly. Downsides? It's pricey.

My boyfriend and I saw this place on Happy Cow and decided to give it a go. It's a fresh soup/salad place with a typical cafe setup - you order at the counter and bus your own tables. I had the "almost" vegan honey mustard white bean soup ("almost" because of the honey) and the chickpea ryeberry salad. The bf had the same soup and a sundried tomato and tofu sandwich.
We both loved our food - it was healthy, humongous!, and well-prepared. There is absolutely no need to order more than one item. I was fed for two meals since then! We also loved the bright casual feel, and were able to eat outdoors in the sunshine.
The place is very easy to navigate if you are a Lacto-Veg. More difficult from a vegan perspective, but the staff was very friendly, honest, and accommodating. My one wish is for more vegan options.

This place is perfect for twenty-somethings and those young at heart looking for fantastic food in a great atmosphere. My first experience there was when I was still a meat-eater, and I loved the food, the beer selection, and the laid-back experience.
Yes, it's loud - it's a bar/cafe. IMO, it's a really great place to go with friends or with a date if you're in the mood for something fun and casual.
When I decided to go Vegan, the Other Side was at the top of my list for places to eat out - they are super Veg-friendly, and everything (at least everything I've had, and I've definitely had my run of the menu..) is delicious and prepared to order.
Note: It's a perfect setting to introduce your omnivorous friends to the glories of veg-eating. It's a cool, totally unassuming place, and the experience proves that vegan food is not only normal, it can be downright stellar.

Authentic and tasty stop in Hartford

My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way west to NY. The place is conveniently located and easy to find. Likely due to the time of day, they were running counter service only. The woman at the counter showed all the combo-plate options available - I had an Ackee pattie, cajun tempeh, jerk tofu, and beans and rice. My boyfriend had a samosa, the tempeh, bbq tofu, and sweet potatoes. I also had a glass of their house hibiscus bev, which was lovely and refreshing. Food had good flavor and portions were generous enough for us to end up with leftovers. I'd go back, but I do agree with other reviewers: the impression given by the website was a bit contrary to what we experienced.
