This drink is my mum's recipe. It is a lovely hot drink to have at a special occasion or in the winter and it has also cured me of a bad cold many a time. Im not that good when it comes to measurements of ingredients (I usually just throw random quantities in and hope for the best) so I won't be putting all the measurements here just some of them.


1 Get a smallish or medium pot and boil water in it. Then bring down to just below a simmer.
2 Add 1 to 2 lemons for a small pot or 2 to 4 lemons for a medium pot. Cut each lemon in half before throwing it in.
3 Add 4 spoonfuls of sugar and honey (or vegan honey substitute). Add more honey or honey substitute than sugar.
4 Add ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Add as much or as little as you want, it's a matter of preference and how spicy you want it to be.
5 Stir and cook on a low to medium heat for awhile.
6 Pour the drink into a large round mug and enjoy!
