I think that was a lovely post. Instead of asking the companies to change, we should just take the power away from them. Everyone should refuse to eat meat. Those who do, should insist that it comes from cruelty free farmers who care about the livestock and their customers. We have no reason to torture animals and those who do deserve to go to hell and have the same acts inflicted upon them. Animals are innocent creatures and it's time that we as consumers say we are fed up.

Thanks Miranda!!! Recently I was on a bit of an argument with a guy who was against vegetarians. His theory was that humans are intelligent and superior to animals, hence, we have the right to eat them. I just asked him, if that logic holds, whether a more intelligent human being could eat a less intelligent one. His absurd response was that we have been doing that all along and we should continue. I believe, in order for this transformation to be achieved everybody has to start this cycle from within. If you stop eating first, then the whole chain of animal torture will break. That's the best thing to do rather than asking people not to kill and not to sell. Because as long as there is a reason for them to continue to harm animals, they will not stop.

You might like my essay, "Thinking About Food", that won an essay contest in 2002. You can read it by going to my "Thinkin' Folks Books" website and clicking on "Essays".

That's an amazing post, thank you. You have described my feelings everyday, yet I feel helpless and hopeless to see so many people not caring and eating meat, dairy and eggs.
