• Vegan Curry Shinjuku Tokyo

17 June 2017 Was difficult to find without speaking Japanese, but understanding the Tokyo dwelling/business location system and the abundant street map boards finally got us there without using a mobile device. Is not well sign-posted but is in alley 5 of Shinjuku Golden Gai (very close to the Shinjoku Yuhodo linear park), towards one end and opposite another curry place (Kangaroo Court). Truly is a tiny bar with just 6 stools at the dimly lit counter. Friendly operator works behind bar in tiny space to provide enjoyable meal (brown rice, curry - a red one and a hot Thai green one with pickled cabbage and fresh lettuce on the day we visited). Operator takes care and time to arrange the components of the meal in the dish and is friendly and conversant in English. Nice food and treasured experience (eating at the bar shoulder to shoulder with the other 5 guests). Operator makes enough for about 15 people each day so shuts when it's all gone.
