  • as quirky as it is delightful

Hanna was a delightful host. We felt immediately at home; its rustic and quirky feel is most cosy. Hanna was a chef at Tallinn's much loved, Restoran V. She has form. No sooner had we decided what we wanted, Hanna was there to take our order. Within minutes, she brought out two dishes for us to share. The first was a hot bowl of creamy carrot soup, served with fresh, crusty bread. Next, was a mixed vegetable and chickpea rice dish. It had a lovely flavour that neither of us could quite put our finger on. We must ask Hanna next time we see her. While the portions were not monstrous, sharing the two small dishes was most satisfying. However, as my partner Kadri would say, there's always room for cake! Apparently, Hanna has quite the reputation for her desserts. Kadri selected the biggest and prettiest cake of Hanna's many tempting offerings. While the decor may be modest, there was nothing modest about Hanna's cake. A fancy cake that tasted at least as good as it looked - complete with her grandmother's jam! Yum. Don't let the name fool you, this is Hanna's Kohvik (Cafe). It is all Hanna. And Hanna is what makes this lovely cafe a place that we will come back to. Thanks Hanna.
