  • Very pleasant atmosphere, disappointing food

Vapiano seems fairly anonymous at a distance, it's not entirely apparent that it's a restaurant (nor where the entrance is). When you do find your way in you're not greeted with a "hello", but with a "do you know the system?". I have not ended up in the matrix but in an Italian restaurant that uses an internal card system, where everything you order is charged to the card, and when you leave you pay for everything on it. This is smooth in one way, annoying in another. Regardless, since they have several smaller restaurants inside the big one this allows you to order from several different outlets. The pasta is the only one that had anything vegan and you only have a few choices, but you can add ingredients, so it's very customisable. The finished dish was in itself fairly nice but a disappointment in some respects. The pasta was ok, the small amount of vegetables in the sauce was pitiful. At the prices they charge, I expect quite a lot more, especially considering the low price level of non-organic veggies. I approached the staff about the lack of filling, only to get told that I should have paid for extras - apparently the overpriced "base" buys you little more than pasta, a sliver of sauce and veggie-pieces you can count on your hands, non-organic I might add. Unbefitting in more than one way.
