- A vegetarian delight....
We first discovered this cafe when we first arrived in Penang and staying nearby. Carol, the delightful owner, is the cook as well as a yoga teacher. Overlooking Permai Park and the surrounding hills, Permai Village Cafe is certainly a veggie delight. As well as a la cart items, they also have lunch time rice stet menu which changes daily. My absolute favourite is the deliciously spicy nasi lemak that comes with a serving of potato/tofu and tempeh in a tasty sauce, spinach and a pyramid of steamed rice topped with chili sauce. Asian delights include a delightful claypot tofu served with rice as well as noodle dishes such as mee goreng, hokkien char. They also do a spicy laksa johor which comes highly recommended. Western delights include burger and chips and quesadilla with melted cheese.
