This was my first Carluccio's visit, purely as they have a vegan menu. I kicked off with Sicilian green olives which were delicious, followed by caponata a chilled sweet and sour aubergine stew with focaccia bread, it was really good. Mains of spaghetti pomodoro however was lacking, the sauce was bland, a little dry and under seasoned. The dish needed a good glug of olive oil and some salt. The broccolini sides however was a star dish, with plenty garlic, chilli and almonds. It is great to have a vegan menu, but Carluccio's need to offer more than just spaghetti pomodoro as a main course, maybe gnocchi, polenta or arancini, after all Italian food is more than just pasta.
