- generous portions of delicious food
Residents and visitors to the Triangle are lucky to have 2 options for Persian food. Pomegranate Kitchen is one of these (Chapel Hill's Sage Cafe is the other) and does not disappoint (well, unless you show up after they are already closed. Hours are very limited). The 2 women that run this are super friendly and warm. All food is freshly prepared with local ingredients. My favorite is the pomegranate and walnut stew over jewel basmati rice. You can buy menu items separately or order as a full meal that comes with bread and chocolate (not vegan). No tables inside, take-out only. But there is a nice courtyard for their building which is a great place to sit and eat. They were previously a vegetarian-only restaurant, but they do now also serve meat (while remaining very veg-friendly). Expect to get a little lost the first time you go if you've never been there before. It's awkward to get to, off of 15/501. You need to turn into New Hope Commons shopping plaza first and then make your way back towards 15/501 on a service road. You can also find their food at various area farmers markets on Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday depending on the market. UNC's Friends Cafe will also be serving some of their food.
