  • Tasty quick food......but grumpy staff

This was our first try of vegan food on our trip around Poland. We were surprised to see what good choices there were in Poland. It is surprisingly good. After reading a few previous reviews, I just had to try this place. There is nothing more satisfying than eating some healthy 'fast food'. I'm a burger and chips kind of guy and this place hit the spot. This place is situated not too far from the Palace of Culture and Sciene, and so is very central. It seems very popular with Poles, and with good reason. Unfortunately, it is very small and so dining there can be a bit tight. We also tried the Mango Vegan on Bracka Street. That was more difficult to find, but worth it. It is bigger with more room to eat in, cleaner and with slightly friendlier staff. We tried three types of burgers - the Komosa, Marine/Morski, and Tofu. We all agreed that all were very tasty, but we all chose the Komosa as being our favourite. The size of the bun burgers are quite large, but the burger itself is average size. However, there is a good supply of fillings - lettuce, tomato, sauces, etc. We also had the plate of 4 falafels. They weren't the best we tried, or the worse. I put them slightly above average perhaps. However, they were a decent size and tasty enough. For drinks, we had the green and hemp smoothies. Both were quite nice, but nothing special. About average I'd say. But they done the job and felt healthy and nutritional. The prices, again, were about average. Neither expensive or cheap. A 'fair' price I'd say. Service was quick but unfortunately, as seems to be the norm everywhere we went in Poland, service most definitely does not come with a smile. As my partner said, 'you'd expect people who care about animal welfare to be more friendly'. Unfortunately, although Poland is one of the best countries that I have found on my travels for vegan food, it is all destroyed by the lack of friendliness of staff all over the country. Unfortunately, nowhere did we go did we meet friendly staff. This almost destroyed our opinions of all the places we visited in Poland. Smiles are for free!!
