- I will miss this place for sure
My favorite place in Hong Kong if it comes to dine out. LN Fortunate Coffee doesn't look like an all-vegan place, if there is something like a typically vegan appearance. I probably wouldn't have found it by accident. Thanks to HappyCow though I had many great meals there. First of all, there are many diffenent menues depending on the time of day. There is the coffee/drinks menu, a lunch menu, a snacks menu, a tea menu, a sandwiches menu, a burger menu, a dinner menu and for all I know also a breakfast menu. This list is not intended to be exhaustive. Apart from that there they sell soy milk, crisps and they have a small corner displaying watches (of all things). Not everything on that menues is great to be honest, but most of it is. In particular I enjoyed the (udon) soups and the sandwiches the most. The black pepper steaks and slices are by far the best vegan ones I have ever eaten. Really well done! The vegan meat balls are exceptional as well. Everything is freshly made. You order and pay right away at the counter. That is a bit annoying, especially if you want to order something else later and therefore have to order and pay again, but on the other hand the there is no common 10% service charge added to your bill. Great staff by the way, that speak good English. The WiFi connection is good. You get as much free water as you want. LN Fortunate Coffee is a bit on the expensive side, that's true, but the service is great, the food awesome and the atmosphere comfy. However, the cupcakes weren't that good. The pudding-like dessert is much better. The thing that annoyed the most though was the music. The same dull music repeating over and over again. Some of it appeared to be a variation of the Goldrush theme of Chaplins shoe eating scene. It was interesting to hear it once, but after ten times and more - well you can imagine it.
