  • Very tasty, also pricey

We stopped by Wasabi's without reservations before 6:00 PM on a Wednesday. It was no problem getting a table at that time, and the specials included a rockfish Thai curry that was easily made vegan by substituting tofu for the fish. Two different people from the kitchen came to the table to discuss the Thai curry sauce and vegan options. The resulting dish was delicious, with wilted greens, fried plantains, forbidden black rice, and the tofu with curry. Between the dinner and the edamame brought to the table prior to ordering, the meal was filling, delicious, and healthy. My companion ordered the salmon special, and wished he had ordered the tofu Thai curry for the taste of it. The rockfish special was $28, and when we asked to have the price adjusted for the tofu substitution, the price was reduced to $24. I also ordered a saketini, which tasted deliciously of the spiraled cucumber in the glass, but was undetectable for sake. I would absolutely return to Wasabi's for an annual, or semi-annual, very special occasion treat. It was very easy to order vegan, and it seemed the establishment is well-versed in the meaning of vegan needs.
