  • A decent vegan gem in a food desert neighborhood

Finally left PDX to try this place a few weeks ago, the food was mediocre but the service great. I have just a few suggestions. I wish the Kale salad that comes with the burger was massaged Kale, mine was dry with hemp hearts and a little balsamic drizzle. I find that it's easier to digest when it's massaged and evenly coated with a bit of dressing. The burger was pretty good, but as an avid homecook, I could have made something tastier at home. They seemed to be short staffed but they were really nice! The homey cozy atmosphere was really great too! The water was empty and the cups still was wet and reeked of the bleach soaking solution which made me feel really sick. :( They promptly filled the water when I let them know it was empty but it was warm and I had to go to the bathroom to rinse my cup well. I wish they used glassware rather than plastic containing BPA, as plastic is an endocrine disrupter. All in all, we won't go again because we live in Portland and it was nothing special that would spur my interest to drive out there.
