  • Very Nice All ‘Round

Three of us had the Navajo tacos with vegetarian chili, which were quite good. The tortellini was mediocre. The desserts (chocolate mousse taco, cheesecake, and flourless chocolate cake) were delicious. The prices were actually pretty reasonable, especially when compared to how expensive everything is for dinner. Why did it not get five stars, you ask? El Tovar is a restaurant that tries hard to create an air of elegance. Unfortunately, it never actually FEELS elegant. It feels like pretty much any other restaurant in an area overrun with tourists. To be fair, there is really nothing they door poorly and we were pleased with everything. It’s just wasn’t a five-star experience.
