- Probably better for vegetarians than vegans
I applaud Portland Pie Company for offering vegan cheese on their pizzas. They have an extensive menu, and virtually any pizza is available with vegan cheese. Portland Pie is an institution in the Portland area with locations in Scarborough and downtown Portland. Their pizza crust is on the thick side, and they have six (!) options for crust types/flavors, including whole wheat. Portland Pie offers a nice variety of pizza toppings. We have always enjoyed their vegetarian pizzas in the past. Recently, we decided to try their vegan pie. Unfortunately, both of us were sick after eating their vegan pizza. Hopefully they were just having an off night.
