- Happy Belly
Buddha Belly became my home away from home (away from home) in Cat Ba. Sure, it's the only fully vegetarian restaurant around, but what luck that it's terrific! The daily rice plate was new and improved every day, the soup hot and nourishing, helpings generous, and the owner a real friend. He even lent me his motorbike to see Cannon Fort as I was feeling a cold coming-on.. Com on!! The veggie fried rice is so good – a million times better than the standard you find around. I brought him veggies that some villagers gifted me, and he cooked them up for me the next day. I ate 6 meals in a row here, and took 1 more for the long journey! Thanks so much for the like-home cooking, and i really wish you great success!
