- Good Indian cuisine
Gandhi is considered the best Indian restaurant in Turin. The cuisine is very well balanced, not too much spicy and greasy. They offer three vegetarian menus (including an ayurvedic one), but none vegan. There are some vegan options, though, on the menu: veggie pakora, basmati rice with vegetables, legumes curries (chickpea, lentil or black bean curry) and some sorbets to choose from. When I go there I usually have a veggie pakora, which is usually very good, followed by a chickpea curry and basmati rice. The mango sorbet is wonderful! The restaurant is quite elegant, with waiters wearing national Indian dresses. Since it is usually crowdy, service is unfortunately not always prompt. 2023 Update They have a fully dedicated vegan menu now, which is outstanding, with soy chunks, potato bread, tofu tikka masala, lentil dhal, basmati rice and mango sorbet. Portions are huge. Definitely recommended. Updated from previous review on 2023-01-29
