• Tasty but could be better

Years ago I had read about this place on happycow, and have eaten here a few times since it first opened back in 2011. Was just here again in July 2017. Here's my Santa Monica True Food Kitchen review. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Santa Monica Place shopping plaza. It's huge with both indoor and outdoor seating. The kitchen and juice bar is open, so you can see the action there. While the menu is not pure veg, the vegetarian and vegan dishes are labeled. The lunch and dinner menus are similar and change seasonally. Vegan selections include a few of the appetizers, a bowl or two, a salad or two, 1 pizza, a couple of the desserts. Overall, it's a fair place to get something vegan or to come with non-veg friends. Everyone can get something tasty. My one suggestion would be for the kitchen to be more cognizant of their use of salt and oil... to much. Updated from previous review on 2016-12-15
