• Saarnak Vegetarian Food and Health Shop

When you visit Kumasi, you must visit the Saarnak Vegetarian Food and Health Shop. The woman who owns the place has been vegan for 30 years and continues to promote a vegan lifestyle in her community. This is one of the few places I found in Ghana to have traditional Ghanaian food that is completely vegan. The food is excellent and the service is great too! Make sure to tell the owner you're a vegan and she will get very excited! The health shop (which is attached to the restaurant) has vegan food, supplements, and books for purchase. It is small and there is not much selection, but there are some great things available for purchase. How to get there? It is across the street from the post office in downtown Kumasi. The cross streets are Old Station Rd and Stewart Ave. Once you get to the post office, ask someone where is “Saarnak Vegetarian” and they will tell you!
