... "Le Grenier de Norte Dame"is how you say garbage in French Really really disappointing at many levels the food ranged from embarrassingly bad to low end mediocre. The only thing worse than their food was their attitude. They were rude and discriminated against foreigners especially Americans. As we sat there for over an hour we witnessed preferential treatment bestowed upon the natives and in three instances we heard them lie about seating. (They were not aware that I understood French because I did not let on that I did you learn a lot that way) they were also rude and condescending which unfortunately unfairly reinforced the stereotype of the elitist French. However most of the French we encountered on our trip were friendly and helpful. The portions were minuscule while their prices were huge. When it came time to pay we handed them our credit card and we were told that their equipment was malfunctioning and that we had to pay in cash well we don't usually carry much cash when traveling so we told them we did not have enough to pay the entire bill well they insisted that we go to an ATM some blocks away while it was raining they also wanted to hold my girlfriend hostage to ensure that they get their ransom. We were humiliated!!! There were sundry civilized ways to handle the situation and we offered a few like taking our information and send them a check , take our credit card info and when their computer glich was rectified they can charge the card, or show them our passports and we would come back the next day etc but they chose strong arm tactics instead. So we went through our bags, pockets and pocketbooks where we managed to scrape up most of the money but we were still 2Euros short. Well that was not good enough for them they still demanded that we come up with the 2 Euros ($2.40) after having come up with $104 of a $106.60 bill. A gentleman sitting next to us offered to help make up for it. I can't tell you how humiliating that was for us. Never again and good riddance to Grenier jamais plus loin et bon débarras pour Grenier
