• Pretty Good, But Pricey

I feel a little bad for writing this. I know Mellow Mushroom is beloved by many vegans nationwide, but I was very disappointed. My boyfriend hyped me up to go to Mellow Mushroom and when I was staying in Destin and saw there was one, my friends and I went. To be honest, if I had been by myself, I probably would have left after seeing how much building myself a personal pizza would cost. But since I was with others, I stayed. I ordered a calzone thinking it might be less expensive or something. I added a couple of things to it. It was pretty good. There was too much sauce and too little daiya for my personal tastes. Overall, the food was just "meh" for me. I really like pizza and eat it all the time and this was one of my most disappointing experiences in a restaurant. Maybe if it was a group of people and you ordered a pie together, it would be different? Maybe if money is no object, but I really wanted to go to a cool restaurant with a funky atmosphere with some non-vegan friends, I would go back. But considering I can get a 12" vegan cheese pizza back home for $5.25, I regretted this purchase.
