The location is very convenient if you are in Shinsaibashi. I got a set meal of a seasonal vegetable soup with sake lees, a bagel with hummus, and a soy latte. I also added chocolate cake. The sake lees did not taste or smell of sake, which is good, because I cannot stand either. When I saw the soup, I was worried it would not be good. It looked a bit greyish, almost like blended mushroom soup, and I really do not like that sort of thing. But the taste was amazing. It also had sliced coin-shaped burdock root that was so good. I have never had anything like that dish before. The bagel with hummus was great and so was the soy latte. The drink had a design on the foam that was so pretty it felt like a waste to drink it. The cake was a fail for me. I expected a traditional cake texture, but it was actually closer to a fudge, but without the deliciousness that term implies. It was just heavy and the flavor was not so good. The accompanying cream was good. I think I could have managed a fourth of the cake if it was served with more cream and fruit but it was impossible to finish for me as it was a big piece. I think they only had one other dessert available that day, a green tea and banana cake, so I definitely want to go back and try that one! Edit: I went back and had a mikan beer (mikan juice mixed with beer) and the coconut curry. The curry didn't strongly taste of coconut- rather the flavors blended together nicely and I liked the kidney beans they used instead of garbanzo beans. I chatted with one of the owners a bit and she is really just a nice person. Updated from previous review on 2018-02-12
