  • My favorite grocery/hang out!

Weaver Street is the throbbing heart of Carrboro. It is the hangout place for everyone from college-aged hipsters to cute elderly couples to young families. The large outdoor seating area is one of the most popular places to be in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area- it is truly a wonderful atmosphere! The co-op offers a superb selection of local and organic foods- both produce and processed. Their selection of bulk foods is awesome and everything bulk is very inexpensive. I find plenty of great foods there to sustain a healthy vegan diet! Weaver also has a huge wine and beer selection and also sells locally-brewed coffee. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner hot and cold bars at Weaver Street are fantastic and very veg-friendly. For breakfast they serve an amazing tofu scramble, the best hash browns I've ever had, and delicious vegan oatmeal; you can eat a very large meal for less than $5. For lunch and dinner, there is a huge salad bar with all kinds of beans, veggies, some fruits, and very good vegan dressings. The hot bars always feature delicious vegan food (as well as meat and dairy/egg dishes). The bakery is renowned in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area for having excellent breads and pastries. There are always a few delicious vegan cakes, cupcakes, etc. available. If you're in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area Weaver Street is a must!
