  • Peaceful oasis and lovely food

Samye Ling Monastery is open to all whether you are staying for a course or just passing by. The Tibetan tea rooms ( in a separate building in the grounds) is open for teas coffees cakes and light snacks. All food is Vegetarian ( mostly Lacto-ovo, but some dishes are Vegan) as the Kagyu Buddhist tradition encourages the abstaining of meat, fish etc. It's manned by volunteers and they do a great job serving tasty food and barista coffee. If you're there for the day you can pay a small fee ( around £10.00 for 3 meals in the Monastery dining room but best to book this in advance. Accomodation is available too- even if you don't want to partake in any courses or ceremonies.
