  • Kring is the King!

Update April 2019 I see the description says that it is vegan except for cakes, but it's not correct. Frequently, some of the main dishes are also not vegan as they use cream for sauces and cheese. They specify this on the labels, but just keep in mind... They have opened one more location in Feb 2019 and I can't understand why it is not on HappyCow yet. It is not in the central part, which will make less attractive to vegans on the road. ___________________ Besides I wrote a review of Soma Vital to be the best vegan restaurant in Sofia, for me it shares the first place with Kring. I just adore their dishes. They are the only producers of tempeh and seitan in Bulgaria for years and both are vastly represented on the menu. To some vegans that are not fans of meat substitutes I suppose seitan is not a thing to like. But I just love its texture and taste - I don't think of eat as meat, but of what it is - a product of its own. Seitan is great for doners as I understood in Berlin's Voner and I am thrilled to have such again. As time passed by, the prices at Kring rose and currently it costs about 7-8 EUR to get a lunch there. It is a buffet with enough options to choose from. Well, if you are a 45 kg vegan girl on salads, 5 EUR will be all you need to overeat. I always didn't understand the religious Sri Chinmoy cult atmosphere, including the music, but finally this is not a serious issue. I saw a comment describing it as a sect or something, but rest assured it isn't. Updated from previous review on 2019-04-19
