Must admit: I was unclear about what precisely was meant by the term "Soul Food." That said, I am effusively happy to have discovered what "Soul Food" REALLY means...at Souley Vegan. Yah. It's really that good. Hype? Really?! I don't know where some of these folks are coming from... . I had the $20 sampler platter the first time I went. Brilliant. Plentiful greens, beans, and comfort foods like mac n cheese...so, so good! After that experience, I had to have one of their sandwiches. It just so happened that upon my second visit, they were featuring a Buffalo Wings Sandwich. If you're lucky, they'll be featuring this sandwich when you go there, too. Chyah!!! Freakin' good! Spicy...but I like it like that. Besides...the vegan beers they serve on tap 'll comfort your poor overheated tongue. I also tried my fiance's Southern Fried Tofu Sandwich...a regular item on their menu...and for a good reason - no other vegan restaurant I know in the Bay Area serves up their tofu fried...Southern style. Love the array of choices for seating areas - so far the upper area in front has been a "go to" favorite spot.
