  • Nice, but just

This was our third visit to Marrakech. The first time we were so disappointed that we didn't bother with it the second visit. Third visit, we decided to give it a try once again. Maybe it had improved Naive us. What a mistake. It has got even worse.... when I thought it wasn't possible. It easy to find, about 10 mins from Djemas El Fna, into the medina. The place itself needs a good thorough clean and update. I don't know what it is about veggie places that they think their customers do not deserve good hygiene conditions. However, at least it wasn't full of dirty mangey disease-ridden cats like so many places in Morocco. The place needs a thorough clean and update. It could easily be done. And the stupid music downstairs is played too loud, while upstairs the rooms are way too hot. Why is there a transparent roof here? It is like eating in a glass-house. And why do we have to request that the waiter clean the table?? They should be cleaned automatically....with hygenic products. At least the toilets aren't filthy manky. There is not much of a menu, so with that in mind, you'd expect them to develop their basic much better. Instead it is quite bland and samey. Not very interesting at all. I have a big diet, but rather than stop because I was full, I stopped eating because I was bored eating the food. There is more to a veggie burger than a potato patty. Prices were quite expensive too considering the country, the portions and the quality. We were paying European prices for far less quality. The best products here were the juices, particularly the Beetroot and Ginger juice. However, it was a change from the very basic tasting Tajine, the non-descript vegetarian couscous or the typical boring pizzas. I found much better food in non-vegetarian restaurants in the backstreets of the Medina, particularly Khouchi Zine. Updated from previous review on 2011-04-15
