First, I have to say that I adore Mamma Mia's and always have. My parents ate here in the 80s and when I moved to Newcastle for uni I started eating here too. It's great, cheap Italian food, even if they can't do flaming sambucas any more due to health and safety. Since becoming a vegetarian I've found the menu very accommodating - the menu is enormous and there really is something for everyone. I often ask for extra toppings and ingredients and am always served something delicious. I haven't tried asking for pizza without cheese but as I start to eat less and less dairy I'll certainly be doing this on my next visit. Brilliant restaurant all round. Make sure you get potato skins as a starter!
